Bhu Varaha Swamy Temple is located in Cuddalore District, Mahavishnu is worshipped as Bhu Varaha Swamy and Lakshmi Devi as Ambujavalli Thayar.  Mulavar is with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi in a standing position. Vigraham is of Salagramam and Mahavishnu is Swayambhu here. 

Sthala Puranam says that, Hiranyaksha stole Earth with him. Bhoomi Devi prayed to Mahavishnu for rescuing her. Mahavishnu appeared as a boar and rescued Devi. Sweat of Hiranyaksha falls here, creating the Kshetra Kulam. Varaha Moorthy stands here seeing Hiranyaksha as per his last wish. Mahavishnu resides here in three forms. In the form of Ashwatha tree, Nithya Pushkarani and Bhu Varaha Swamy. 

The temple tank, called Nithya Pushkarani, is known for its medicinal values. Devotees prays here for good health and protection from enemies. This is a Prarthana Sthalam for childless couples. Navaratri is very famous here.
