Hasanamba Kshetra is located at Hassan District nearly 180 kms from Bangalore. Hassan city got it's name because of Hasanamba Devi. Shakti Devi is worshipped as Hasanamba here. Kshetra is open to devotees only once a year. during Deepavali time.  

Sthala Puranam says that, once the Saptha Mathrukal were on their way through this place, when they got attracted by beauty of Hassan. They decided to stay here, forever. Andhakasura obtained a wish from Brahma Deva and started to torture everyone. 

Paramashiva created Yogeshwari, and along with sapta Matrukkal, asura was destroyed. Another story says that, four robbers attempted to steal jewels of Hasanamba and Devi turned them in to stones and these stones can still be seen in the Temple.

Vittala Panduranga and Narahari Sonar Narahari Sonar was a great Shiva Bhakta who lived in Pandharpur. He worshipped Mallikarjuna Shiva temple near Vittal Temple, but never wished to  look at Vithoba's temple even once. Narahari Sonar was a gold Smith who was excellent in his work.  One day a merchant who was childless offered to donate a gold kavacham to Panduranga if he is blessed with a child. Koppudai Amman Temple Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu Koppudai Nayaki Amman Koil is located in Karaikudi. Adi Shankaracharya, visited this temple and has installed Sri Chakra. Vigraham of Devi is made of Panchaloka, (a mixture of 5 metals).  Another uniqueness of Temple is that Utsava Moorthy and Moola Vigraham is the same. This is seen only in Chidambaram Natarajar Temple.  There were two sisters Koppudai Nayaki and Kattamma. Koppudai Nayaki treated her sister’s kids as her own.  But Kattamma didn't allow this.
