Shri Rajarajeshwari Kshetra
Bengaluru, Karnataka

Shri Rajarajeshwari Kshetra or Jnanakshi Rajarajeshwari Temple is located in RR Nagar of Bengaluru. Temple is also called Kalyananagari. It is said that Temple forms the Karnabhaga (ear) of all the Shakthi Peedams in India. Devi is worshipped here as Rajarajeshwari.

Sri Tiruchi Swamiji went to Kailasam to do Tapas, when Durga Devi, Lakshmi Devi and Saraswathi Devi instructed him to go south. While traveling through the area, he saw 3 Garudas flying in the sky, around the area where Temple is now situated. He found that the Garudas were protecting Vigrahams of Durga Devi, Lakshmi Devi and Saraswathi Devi in a forest.

The Swamiji decided to make this place his Ashramam. This area happens to be the ancient Tapovan by Atri muni and Anasuya. On the 27th of March every year at sunrise, the rays of the sun fall directly, on the Devi’s forehead and comes down to her feet. Many devotees come here to pray Rajarajeshwari Devi. Navarathri is very famous in the Temple.

Shri Mahadevyai Namah
