Kottai Mariamman Temple is located in Salem District of Tamil Nadu. Devi is worshipped here as Kottai Mariamman or Periya Mariamman.Temple has a small Garba Griham, to mention that, however rich a person is they should bow down while entering to sannidhi here. 

This is one of the oldest temple in Salem District. Kottai Mariammam temple was inside a fort in the times of Chera kings. Cheras treated Mariamman as their guardian. Later Mariamman vigraham was shifted near the bank of Thirumanimuthu river and with all rituals  Kumbabhishekam was performed.  

Devi is also called Malaimari, Mari means rain. If rain is deficient people prays here for their agricultural yields. Those who suffer from Small Pox are given theertham from temple.

Vittala Panduranga and Narahari Sonar Narahari Sonar was a great Shiva Bhakta who lived in Pandharpur. He worshipped Mallikarjuna Shiva temple near Vittal Temple, but never wished to  look at Vithoba's temple even once. Narahari Sonar was a gold Smith who was excellent in his work.  One day a merchant who was childless offered to donate a gold kavacham to Panduranga if he is blessed with a child. His prayer was answered and merchant visited Narahari Sonar, and requested him to make kavach. But Narahari Sonar a being a Shiva Bhaktha denied this. Measurement was taken again but this time too big. The temple priests asked to bring Narahari Sonar to take measurements. Narahari Sonar refused first,  but tieing eyes he was brought to the temple

Koppudai Amman Temple Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu Koppudai Nayaki Amman Koil is located in Karaikudi. Adi Shankaracharya, visited this temple and has installed Sri Chakra. Vigraham of Devi is made of Panchaloka, (a mixture of 5 metals).  Another uniqueness of Temple is that Utsava Moorthy and Moola Vigraham is the same. This is seen only in Chidambaram Natarajar Temple.  There were two sisters Koppudai Nayaki and Kattamma. Koppudai Nayaki treated her sister’s kids as her own.  But Kattamma didn't allow this.
