Shri Siddhivinayak Temple

Mumbai, Maharashtra

Siddhivinayak Temple is located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. Temple was built by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil. Also called as Navsacha Ganapati or Navasala Pavanara Ganapati, Ganesha bestows with every genuine wish of devotees.

Deaubai Patil who was childless built this temple so that Ganesha will grant children to all others who suffer without a child. Ramakrishna Jambhekar Maharaj, once buried two vigrahas in the front of the presiding ganesha as per orders of his guru.

It is said that after 21 years, a tree grew at that spot with a swayambhu Ganesha in its branches. Ganesha’s forehead has third eye here & seen with Riddhi and Siddhi. Devotees strongly believe that whatever we whisper in mushak's ear that wishes are sure to be granted

  1. *Holi*  originated from Multan Bharat, but from 1947 after a brutal  partition, it’s now in Pakistan, where the last ruins of the ancient Prahladpuri Temple still exist after it was destroyed by a Jihadi mob in 1992.

Do not forget this historical fact. A civilisation that forgets its history is never forgiven and is condemned to repeat it.

How many of us have heard of the *Prahladpuri Temple* in Multan. Multan was also the site for one of the greatest Sun Temple of India, the *Aditya Sun Temple*, that was destroyed first by Muhammad bin Qasim and later completely destroyed by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1026 AD.

Multan's name comes from the Sanskrit term Mula Sthana, it meant the ‘original abode’ and housed a massive Aditya Sun Temple. Multan is said to have been founded by Kashyap, father of Hiranya Kashyap, after whom it was named Kashyapapur.

The forgotten Prahladpuri Temple associated with Holika Dahan, is said to have been built by Prahlad, son of Hiranya Kashyap, in honor of the Narsingh Avatar, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, who emerged from the pillar to save Prahlad. The shrine stands in ruins to this day.

Prahladpuri Temple here had an idol of Lord Vishnu in the incarnated form of Narasimha (A half human and half lion form)

So while we celebrate Holika Dahan remember the original site of Holi shall remain in ruins in Multan.
