Goravanahalli Mahalakshmi Temple
Tumkur, Karnataka 

Mahalakshmi Temple is located in Goravanahalli of Tumkur District. Vigraham of Mahalakshmi is Swayambhu here. Those who cannot visit Kolhapur mahalakshmi temple, visit this temple and seek blessings. 

Sthala Puranam says that, a villager Abbayya got the Vigraham of Mahalakshmi. He started to worship Devi at his home and he was blessed with wealth and all success. Abbayya used to feed poor in his house and his house was known as Lakshmi Nivasa. 

Later his brother Thotadappa started doing pooja to Devi. One day, he had a dream where Mahalakshmi asked him to construct a temple for her. Thus temple was built here. It was forgotten abandoned later till Kamalamma arrived here and she started doing poojas. Mahalakshmi temple is very famous in Bangalore.

Vittala Panduranga and Narahari Sonar Narahari Sonar was a great Shiva Bhakta who lived in Pandharpur. He worshipped Mallikarjuna Shiva temple near Vittal Temple, but never wished to  look at Vithoba's temple even once. Narahari Sonar was a gold Smith who was excellent in his work.  One day a merchant who was childless offered to donate a gold kavacham to Panduranga if he is blessed with a child. Koppudai Amman Temple Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu Koppudai Nayaki Amman Koil is located in Karaikudi. Adi Shankaracharya, visited this temple and has installed Sri Chakra. Vigraham of Devi is made of Panchaloka, (a mixture of 5 metals).  Another uniqueness of Temple is that Utsava Moorthy and Moola Vigraham is the same. This is seen only in Chidambaram Natarajar Temple.  There were two sisters Koppudai Nayaki and Kattamma. Koppudai Nayaki treated her sister’s kids as her own.  But Kattamma didn't allow this.
