Mahalakshmi Temple is one among the Shakti Peethas, where eyes of Shakti  Devi are said to have fallen. Kiranotsav is celebrated 3 times in a year when Sun's rays falls directly on the Vigraham of Mahalakshmi Ambabai.

Kiranotsav is a divine festival that has been going on since centuries. During sun set golden rays of Sun first touch Maa's feet, then chest and at last Face and entire body. All lights were kept off during this time and Maa Shines in Sun's rays

Vittala Panduranga and Narahari Sonar Narahari Sonar was a great Shiva Bhakta who lived in Pandharpur. He worshipped Mallikarjuna Shiva temple near Vittal Temple, but never wished to  look at Vithoba's temple even once. Narahari Sonar was a gold Smith who was excellent in his work.  One day a merchant who was childless offered to donate a gold kavacham to Panduranga if he is blessed with a child. Koppudai Amman Temple Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu Koppudai Nayaki Amman Koil is located in Karaikudi. Adi Shankaracharya, visited this temple and has installed Sri Chakra. Vigraham of Devi is made of Panchaloka, (a mixture of 5 metals).  Another uniqueness of Temple is that Utsava Moorthy and Moola Vigraham is the same. This is seen only in Chidambaram Natarajar Temple.  There were two sisters Koppudai Nayaki and Kattamma. Koppudai Nayaki treated her sister’s kids as her own.  But Kattamma didn't allow this.
