Situated at Kammasandra in Kolar Dt, Karnataka, temple has one of largest lingams in the World. Huge Shivalingam measuring 33 mtr & 11mtr tall Nandi Dev. Idea is for prathista of crore lingams thus name Kotilingeshwara.

Story says that Manjunatha Sharma when was a small boy disliked Shiva and had no belif in Bhagwan. He insulted whoever worshipped Mahadev. But later due to some miseries in his life he understands power of Mahedev but felt guilty that he had committed many sins by insulting Shiva Bhakthas. Thus Manjunatha under the support of Ambikeshwara varma made 10 million (one crore) Shiva Lingas. Hence, the name Kotilingeshwara, where Koti means crore.


Within the premises of the temple, there are about eleven other temples for different such as
Annapoorneshwari, Karumaari Amman, Panduranga Swamy, Shri Rama, Sita and Lakshmana Temple, Panchamukha Ganapathy Temple and many more. Very beautiful temple which will give peace and satisfaction.
